On Wednesday 22nd NopeaRide launched its third charging station at Thika Road Mall. With the pilot phase coming to a close, Nopea has moved to scaling up its operations by adding to the fleet.
The launch was a success graced by Thika Road Mall CEO Anand Garikipati, UN Environment Electric Mobility Coordinator Alex Koerner and a representative from the Ministry of Transport, Esther Gachanja.
NopeaRide has seen positive reviews and reception from the public and the state. Esther Gachanja a representative from the Ministry of Transportation, stated that the Government would set standards necessary to acquire electric cars as the mission to reduce air pollution would facilitate a healthy impact in the society.
Led by EkoRent founder and CEO, Juha Suojanen, NopeaRide launched its new charging station to serve Thika Road and its environs. Juha states that the Kenyan market is agile and there are many lessons to be learned along the way. The Kenyan transport sector is ready for takeoff in terms of electric vehicles, something NopeaRide hopes to ride on going forward.
Investors and driver investors are encouraged to come on board to further this vision.
